A good example for a Susu rhythm like that is Yoki (Guinée Faré). The boté is made of a solid piece of wood like a bowl. A cow skin is stretched over it and you play it with a wooden mallet standing. The other free hand holds a bell on one finger and you will play it with attached iron rings on your other fingers. The bote drum sounds equal to a sangban.
